Today I had to renew my subscription to the Chicago Manual of Style Online. It was $35; last year it was $25. Talk about inflation.
But it's important to know whether it should be "60 Minutes" or 60 Minutes, so I guess I'll just have to eat it.
For a while, I cheated and kept signing up for free 30-day trial subscriptions. I did that a few times, and then I ran out of e-mail addresses. And I felt a little guilty. I can't pay for something that helps me earn money? For shame.
In unrelated news, if you use this link to make your first Groupon purchase I get a $20 credit. Groupon is awesome. Yesterday I got a Domino's Pizza, worth up to $20, for $8. That is a good deal, and I like pizza. So I guess I'll use those savings towards paying the University of Chicago for my source of knowledge.
It's 60 Minutes, by the way. In case you were curious.

Maybe your mother-in-law should help you with the cost of the subscription! She would be glad to, you just have to drop a hint!
ReplyDeleteThe pizza sounds yummy! We are on a pizza famine since to have some, I have to make it ... and with income tax season, end of quarter grades and progress reports, and keeping the paper stacks low, I've not been "Suzie homemaker" too much the last while.
